They (whoever *they* are, right?) always say that the most common issue couples fight about is money. Not Mr.P and I! I can count on one hand how many times in 2.5 years we've fought about money. We are very good about discussing purchases with each other and we have similar values about saving and spending.
The number one issue we fight about....TRAFFIC! Sounds silly, right? Nobody likes traffic. I certainly don't. Last week when we spent 3 hours in stop and go traffic from LA to San Bernadino I wanted to gouge my own eyes out. But traffic is a part of life, especially living in an urban area. Seattle has a pretty bad traffic problem.
Mr.P hates traffic more than anything else. If a traffic jam stands between him and being somewhere at a given time, he'll just wait until traffic has cleared and show up late (sometimes grossly late) for an event. To me this is unacceptable. If you have a commitment to be somewhere at a given time, you need to be there. Even if it means leaving 45 minutes earlier to sit in traffic in order to get to said place.
Mr.P on the other hand becomes the biggest whiny baby and has a hard time compromising on the issue. Like tonight...we're supposed to go out to dinner with an old friend who is in town for business. Mr.P asked me if it would be alright for him to be an hour late so that he could wait until after traffic clears. My answer? No. I think that he should suck it up and sit in traffic so that he can be here on time. He's got 13 minutes to get here....

Well!? Did he make it!?
He was 5 minutes late :-)
But we went through the same thing the next night, and that time he was an hour late because he didn't want to deal with traffic.
